The bonds with our animals are some of the most pure and enduring. If angels are real, I believe they are our angels, in this life and beyond. Unconditional love manifest. So heart-warming that Liz could midwife you and your family into this infinite loving. ❤️
Hard, very hard it is to lose a loved one. I have been at the death beds of my sister, my uncle, my mother, and more, and saw them take their last breaths. Some I still grieve for, all I wish well. A companion animal is a person and is no different in my eyes. Yours is wise advice about loss.
Oh, this made my eyes sting. Letting go of an animal, a cherished pet, a creature without our language, but so very cherished for that. I have three cats; I dread the day they go. They provide so much daily to our lives. I know I will of course home other cats, and there are many cats I remember as well as the sharp, sharp grief when they passed. Ah, love extracts a heavy price...

Thanks for your good thoughts Kimberly. Angels indeed, and Liz was our guide. So grateful for her wisdom.
Grief transforms but doesn't heal.
It's not an illness or something to recover from but a reflection of love that stays with us.
I am truly sorry for your loss, Baird.
Thanks Neela. I had to get a few years away from that loss to write about it. Tundra will be our last dog. We just can't go through that grief again.
I think you just inspired an article friend and I understand :)

Hard indeed Michael. We love and we lose. No way around it.
Peace. ✌️
With awareness of how inadequate words are, I'm sorry for your loss.
Words expressed sincerely are always worthy. Thank you Mitch.

Indeed Michelle. Certain beings are just so lovable, and loving them is just so delicious. But oh, when they go ...
