Yes it will. The planet doesn't need us. A meteor strike - or our own stupidity - may change the environment in ways incompatible with our own continued existence. New life will evolve. New ecosystems will form. We just won't be there. It will be the collective version of our own individual fate.

We come from many different backgrounds and we share these essential human elements that will somehow sustain us through "the catastrophe"
